Esther Bächlin, piano and vocal
In summer 2008, the 43-year old Swiss pianist and composer recorded her first solo program called “Open the Door”. After a long period of performing mainly in the “jazz fields”, Esther returned back to writing and performing more simple and direct music without neglecting the richness of jazz-harmony.
Her music is a special blend of unconventional pop songs with jazzy elements as well as more quiet improvisations. Her profound texts tell about the possibilities of creating new conciousness and give some new perspective on mankind issues.
The CD was mainly recorded one-to-one with some additional, improvised overdubs.
She touches the audience with her dynamic and colorful play, her ability to change organically between textures and moods and her warm intimacy – just creative and inspiring singer-songwriter music!
